Sony’s Kenichiro Yoshida Warns That Cloud Gaming Is Still ‘Very Tricky’ Due To Technical Issues

Speaking during an interview with the Financial Times, Sony‘s Kenichiro Yoshida warned that Cloud gaming still has a way to go, describing the technology as “very tricky” due to the number of technical issues that remain .Yoshida-san said that Sony will look to use “various options” in the future in regards to streaming PlayStation titles over the Internet.I think cloud itself is an amazing business model, but when it comes to games, the technical difficulties are high” he said, referring latency. “So there will be challenges to cloud gaming, but we want to take on those challenges.”The executive went on to note that it is financially inefficient to run cloud gaming series when there are few players around, while an influx of players logging in could result in performance issues.The dark time for cloud gaming had been an issue for Microsoft as well as Google, but it was meaningful that we were able to use those [quieter] hours for AI learning.Related Content – Sony PS5 Complete Guide – Everything Explained About PlayStation 5 For New Owners In 2023Jim Ryan, President and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, recently described the format holder as having ‘aggressive plans‘ for Cloud Gaming that will be revealed soon.[Source – Financial Times]
