Merge Cube is a game about sliding cubes along a lane, then smashing them into other cubes of matching numerical values. It takes ideas from a bunch of different genres and squishes them together into something pretty interesting. But that does mean it’s sometimes pretty complex.
So we thought it was a good idea to write up a guide. Here you’re going to find all of the hints, tips and tricks that we’ve picked up during our time playing Merge Cube. Take these strategies to heart and you’re going to be making massive matches in no time flat.
Anyone, from players who’ve never merged a cube to seasoned players who’ve been doing it for a while, can find something here that’ll take their game to the next level. So here are the best hints, tips and cheats for Merge Cube.
Use the bounce
When cubes merge together, they bounce up into the air. There are a number of ways you can use this to your advantage. Hit a merge at the bottom of a pile and you can send other cubes flying, or you can use the bounce of a cube to quickly slot your next shot underneath it. Look for ways you can utilize the bounce and you’ll be surprised how many there are.
Don’t just fire cubes you can’t match into the fray and hope for the best. Instead, try and stack your cubes in descending numerical value, so you can create chains of matches when the right number comes out. It’s not always possible, but you should always check to see if there’s a chance you can do it before doing anything else.
Choose your shots
Think about how your shots are going to help you out the most. There might be multiple merges you can make, or multiple different positions you can place the current cube in. Look for the shot that’s going to make the biggest change, and take that one.
Save your special moves
You should save your special moves for when you’re particularly stuck, since they can clear massive chunks of the board and help you out of some difficult situations. If there are matches you can make, don’t use a special move. Keep them back for when you’ve made a few mistakes instead.
Look for the angle
It’s possible to hit cubes when only the smallest part of them is jutting out, whether that’s at the side or from above. Look to see how you can barge into cubes as well – sometimes you’ll make the best matches by nudging one cube into another and setting off a chain reaction. Find the angle that’s going to get the best result.
