It may not be the World Cup, but the men’s soccer tournament at the 2021 Olympics will feature a slew of future World Cup stars.
Unlike the women’s side of things, the Olympics men’s soccer tournament has an age limit of 24 years old. Each squad is allowed to have three players older than 24 participating.
Americans won’t get to see Team USA compete as the USMNT didn’t make the cut. Instead, they can tune in to watch teams like Spain, France, Germany, Argentina and Brazil battle it out.
The Brazilians won the gold at the 2016 Olympics, beating out Germany for the top spot. Nigeria took bronze, but they aren’t appearing in this year’s tournament.
Can Brazil do it again? Will another group knock them off their perch? It’s all up for grabs in Tokyo.
