Betting company 1win has announced the second edition of its $100,000 (~£79,000) 1win Series for Dota 2.
Taking place from June 27th-30th, the 1win Series Dota 2 Summer will feature eight esports organisations, including Gaimin Gladiators, Team Spirit and last edition’s winner Entity.
Operated by 1win Esports, the tournament series will see participants divided into GSL-style groups. The two best teams from each group will qualify for the playoff stage, which consists of a single-elimination bracket with best-of-three matches and best-of-five finals.
Alongside the previously mentioned teams, Virtus.pro, beastcoast, PSG.Quest, Nigma and 1win’s esports division will compete in the event.
The inaugural 1win Series Dota 2, which took place in March 2024, recorded a peak viewership of over 68,000 and an average viewership of 28,000. Similarly to the last tournament, Esports Insider will once again be supporting the 1win Series with match-day coverage across the entire event.
All matches of the event will be commented on by casters, with the talent line-up expected to be announced later. The tournament will also be broadcast live on 1win Esports’ Twitch and YouTube channels.
1win is one of many betting companies that have invested heavily in the esports space over the years. Russian bookmaker Betboom owns its own esports division, Betboom Team, while the likes of Pinnacle, Rivalry and Thunderpick have all been a part of major esports activations.
